January 2026 monthlog
January was pretty great! Did lots of things and hid from some unpleasant weather.
Updates here
- 21 posts including a few prompts
- more pages: creativity and curiosity, trying new things and doing more stuff, collecting quotes, curricula, reading, history and heritage. I'm enjoying collecting the lists of posts manually, rather than using tags, so I can make notes and such
- ongoing attempts to add more sea creatures to the place as per virtual spaces as places and natural habitat
- made an open whiteboard on TLDraw. In lieu of a guestbook or whatever. I don't really know how it's going to work but pop over and doodle or something
Progresses elsewhere
- my ideas for 2026 post is shaping up more like ideas for January 2026...
- made a zine about joy. Ran the regular DnD game twice and booked to play DnD at the boardgame cafe. Got some people interested in playing something that isn't DnD. Organised all my game PDFs, printed some, and made a list of everything. Also booked a writing retreat holiday with my friend and a letterpress course at the print workshop
- I might start a new shaming feature: books I've bought versus books I've read. To see the ratio
- went to the cinema multiple times, on a tour of the museum store which was extremely cool, to give blood, round the park every day.
Favourites this month
- snow
- watched Lord of the Rings at the cinema. One each week - Return of the King tomorrow
- lots of great books with above average amount of exclamation marks in titles: Martyr!, Wandering Stars, Playground, and Long Live the Post Horn!
♫ Don't Fuck This Up - Andrew Applepie, Half Awake - Porcelain Raft, End of the Line - MANAREM, Make Me Smile Kid Francescoli remix - Sarah Rebecca and Kid Francescoli, Silent Love - Enfant Sauvage, Paris - Antoine Malye, Regarder la nuit - Romain Garcia and Pépite, À la nage - De la Suda and Lisa S, Hi - Mike Sabath, One Thing - Peter and Kerry, The Big Idea - Black Books.
